The Fraunhofer Institute for Technological Trend Analysis (Fraunhofer INT) in the German town Euskirchen is part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization with more than 80 research units, including 60 Fraunhofer Institutes, at different locations in Germany. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft promotes and undertakes applied research in an international context, of direct utility to private and public enterprise and of wide benefit to society as a whole. Fraunhofer INT creates, and continually updates, a comprehensive overview of the general research and technology landscape and of the entire spectrum of technological development, national and international. With the support of a highly-versatile, state-of-the-art measurement infrastructure, the Institute also carries out theoretical work and experiments on electromagnetic and nuclear effects. Clients are bodies from state and industry.
Fraunhofer INT is responsible for Workpackage 1 "Usage cases definition and assessment". Together with JRC it provides a definition of the usage cases, the needs and requirements for the tools to be developed within the project. Furthermore Fraunhofer INT performs measurements to evaluate the developed devices in the laboratory with respect to technical specifications. Finally Fraunhofer INT will develop user guidelines and organize and execute a testing exercise including users.
